Bronze Back Your Youth

It Cosmetics Radiance Ombre BronzerI've probably mentioned before how I love all things peptide. I had been searching for a good bronzer. I was mostly looking to contour my cheeks. When I found It Cosmetics had a bronzer with peptides, I was sold.

it Cosmetic's CC+ Radiance Ombre Bronzer has two shades, a bronzer and a highlighter, and they gradually fade into each other in the middle. So pretty. And so good for your skin. The peptides help lift and tighten the skin. It also has silk, collagen, green tea, vitamins A and C, to name a few other anti-aging ingredients.

The bronzer color is nice. It gives a golden rosy glow. The highlighter gives a bit of sparkly shine to the top of the cheekbones. I usually apply them separately, dabbing my brush into each color one at a time.

If you haven't used a bronzer before, it is great for adding warmth to the face and some contouring to the cheek area. I feel like foundation seems to flatten out my face and make me look a little pasty. Bronzer adds back the contours of my face and gives it a warm glow.

I feel like my forehead looks really flat and wide after applying foundation. Adding a small amount of bronzer around the hairline softens the foundation line around the forehead, making it look more oval and less prominent.

Highlighting above the cheekbone is also nice. Not only does it help bring out the cheekbones, but I think it brightens the eyes. I also like it because it helps buff out the bronzer, which sometimes can form a line of demarcation on the cheekbone.

If you like to bronze and highlight, I would do it with it Cosmetic's CC+ Radiance Ombre Bronzer because of the peptides and other anti-aging ingredients. Whenever I find makeup that contains anti-aging skin care ingredients, I grab it because you are beautifying your skin today as well as in the future.

Here are some photos of me with and without the bronzer.

Radiance Ombre

I've always felt like I have big cheeks, and that my face is mostly cheek. I think using it Cosmetic's CC+ Radiance Ombre Bronzer slims my face a bit and breaks up the wide, flat area of my cheeks. The anti-aging peptides and collagen also help lift the cheeks over time, as well. I love it!

Big Mom Bag is Staying Home Today...

Quilted Cross Body Bag with Chain strap

...little clutch purse is coming out to play!

I feel so fabulous when I wear this purse. Maybe because it is a Chanel bag look-alike. It is lightweight, and I barely notice it on my shoulder.

It doesn't hold much more than the essentials. I carry a small wallet, a collapsible shopping bag, a pack of tissues, keys, and cellphone. I leave my hand lotion, lip gloss, etc. in the car. This bag can also be converted into a clutch by pulling the straps in through the little holes in the top.

Chain Strap Quilted PurseI've been wanting a cute purse like this for when I'm running errands or going shopping without the kids. I don't always need to carry a pack of baby wipes, extra napkins, first aid kit, and coloring sets everywhere I go.

I just wanted a small purse to carry my wallet, keys, and cellphone. This bag does the trick. And it is lovely. The chain strap has an inner "pleather" strap that goes through it, giving it a very elegant and trendy look.

I got it in the color Apricot, even though this picture makes it look cream-colored. It is a little more peachy in real life. It is the perfect summer color. I'm tempted to put a "winter" color on my wishlist, though.

This chain-strapped quilted cross body bag compliments almost any outfit. From denim shorts and a tank top to a pretty sundress, or even a cute cocktail dress. The gold-colored chain strap and turn-lock fastener are nice added touches to such a sweet little bag.

Mamma With a Blue Dress

Derek Heart Cold Shoulder DressThis Derek Heart cold shoulder bodycon dress has been one of my favorite dresses this summer. It is casual and comfortable, so I can throw it on and wear it just about anywhere. It is such a cute medium blue heather color that I think brings out my tan. The cold shoulder look is very in right now, and it works well for hot summer days.

I often wear this dress with Keds, but today I wore them with a block heel lace-up sandal. When I go shopping without the kids, I like to take that opportunity to wear heels. And these are new ones I just got this spring!

For this dress, I opted for a size Medium, which I normally do with Derek Heart clothes. It is supposed to be a bodycon dress, but I just don't want it skin-tight. I've had two children, and it shows. I am 5ft and 105lbs. The Medium size fits me comfortably with room to have a decent meal and not be bursting at the seams :-)

This dress comes in other colors too, which you might like better. It comes in a nice olive green color, but I'd already bought an olive green Derek Heart dress. It also comes in an orange color, which looks a bit bright but also really pretty. The blue was obviously my favorite!

I'm a bargain hunter, and since finding these cute, comfortable, and reasonably priced Derek Heart dresses, I've been slowly collecting them. And now that fall is coming, I'm on the lookout for some cute Derek Heart winter tops.

Naturally Pretty Eye Shadow

It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Eye Shadow PaletteNaturally Pretty palette All Heart colorI'm all about anti-aging peptides, and I try to get my hands on makeup containing these peptides. Luckily I found that It Cosmetics has these anti-aging peptides in a lot of their makeup in addition to their skin care products.

I love their Naturally Pretty eye shadow palettes. Not only do they have peptides, but they also contain many other anti-aging goodies, like Vitamin C, green tea, and collagen, just to name a few.

The original Naturally Pretty palette has a mix of really pretty warm and cool colors. It has a nice range of lights, mediums, and darks. The mediums are great for transition colors, to help blend the crease color. Sunrise and sunset are warm, orangey / rusty colors, which are really in right now.

My favorite color is All Heart, which is a medium mauvey-brown shade. It's an easy color to wear, when you want a cooler brown, almost lavender look on your eyes. It is nice as an allover lid and crease color, as well as a transition color. Then you can layer a little of the Transforming Pearl color on your eyelid for some shimmer.

Naturally Pretty palette All Heart colorThe Transforming Pearl is a very unique eye shadow enhancer. It adds a bit of shimmer on top of any of the matte colors in the palette. And yes, they are all matte except for the Transforming Pearl. But it makes it so easy to add just a hint of sheen to add highlight to your eyes. Or you can just go all matte, too. Change it up a bit.

Here are some pics of me wearing the All Heart color. It is very natural-looking with a bit of color to add interest. And I also patted on a little of the Transforming Pearl on my eyelid to give it extra dimension.

I also used the black color called Noir as an eyeliner. Call it lazy or what, but I've been using the black shadows that often come in eye shadow palettes as eyeliner. It's easier than opening up a separate eyeliner product. And you don't have to take time to sharpen a pencil liner.

I use the e.l.f. small smudge brush to apply the black shadow as eyeliner. I even add a little wing. I find that using shadow as eyeliner gives your eye makeup a more natural look. If you want a casual daytime look that doesn't have a harsh liquid eyeliner linesing black eyeshadow as eyeliner keeps the line soft and natural.

This palette does not come with an applicator or makeup brush. But that is totally fine with me because I always use my Ecotools Eye shadow brushes. They are so soft and gentle on my eyelids. I can blend eye shadows eternally with them.

Naturally Violet

Updated 7/24/2017

Here is a pic with Violet eye shadow all over, Transforming Pearl to accent the lid, and Noir shadow as eyeliner.

Natural Sunset

Updated 7/25/2017

This is a different look I wore today with the Naturally Pretty palette. It is a warm summery look that would also be nice in the fall to match the burnt orange hues of the changing leaves. I used the following eye shadow colors from the palette:

Sunrise: overall lid color

Sunset: accent color for out corners of lid

Noir: line the eyes

Transforming Pearl: highlight on center of eyelids and above lash line

Sheer Joy: highlight on browbone

Luckily, since this Naturally Pretty Vol 1 Matte Luxe Palette has been out for a few years, you can now get it on Amazon for a better price than at makeup counters!

Natural Beigy-Brown

Updated 7/29/2017

Today I wanted really natural-looking eye makeup. So I opted for light beigy-brown colors from the Naturally Pretty palette. I also used Lancome Definicils Mascara, which gives a natural look to the lashes.

Here are the shadow colors from the Naturally Pretty palette I used in the look below:

Soft Light: A cool, light brownish-beige color. I used it as a transition color. I applied it all over the crease, and a little down into the lid inner and outer corners, all the way to just below the brow-bone.

Mocha: A cool, medium brown. I applied it to the outer corner of eye, blending into the crease and just under the brow bone.

Noir: The dark black shadow color. I used it as eyeliner and applied it above the lash line and winged it out a tiny bit.

I didn't bother to use the Transforming Pearl this time, because I was going for a more natural look. I just left the center of my eyelids above my lashes bare, with just eye primer.

Natural Smoke

Updated 7/31/2017

This is a really simple eye shadow application that I've gotten lots of compliments on. It gives you a little bit darker, more dramatic look. I just used the color Iconic from the Naturally Pretty palette to do the whole eyelid. And then I blended and blended and blended it. Iconic is a medium-dark grayish purple. It's nice for getting a smokey look that you can wear during the daytime. Not too dark or intense looking. Just naturally smokey. You can go heavier on the application to get a darker look for going out at night.

As in the above applications, I also used the eye shadow color Noir as the eyeliner.

For the mascara, I used Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara.

Natural Navy

Updated 8/1/2017

Today I used the dark navy blue color called Midnight from the Naturally Pretty palette. I used it primary in the outer corner of my eyes, and also a little in the crease. I used some other colors from the palette as well. Here is the breakdown:

Warmth: used in the crease

Midnight: outer corner of eye and as eyeliner

Sunrise: center of eyelid

Transforming Pearl: on top of Sunrise to add shimmer

This dark navy blue shadow is not too bright, but adds dimension to the eye.

Mascara used was Lancome Monsieur Big.

The Casual Little Black Dress

Derek Heart Dress with Triangle Cut-outsI found an inexpensive line of clothing that is cute, casual, and comfortable called Derek Heart. I've gotten several Derek Heart dresses and love them all. They are quick and easy to throw on to shuttle the kids around, taking them to activities, the park, going shopping, errands, etc. I have found most of the fabric stretchy and very forgiving of the post-baby imperfections that I haven't been able to get rid of.

I found this Derek Heart Women's Cut in Shoulder Bodycon Dress with Traingle Cutouts on Amazon. Amazon and Wal-mart is where I've been getting these cute Derek Heart dresses. I don't really want to get expensive dresses to wear while running around with the kids. But I still do try to look nice and be comfortable.

This dress, as some of the other Derek Heart dresses that I've gotten, is made of stretchy, ribbed fabric. It conforms to your curves without emphasizing every flaw. The fabric is a good thickness, not overly thin. The ribbing helps camouflage a few bumps and rolls here and there.

I am 5ft 105lbs, and I got a Medium size. After washing, it shrinks a bit and fits me perfectly. Not too tight, but still flattering.

This dress is so cute with the little cut-outs at the shoulders. It is a unique style. The back straps is a racerback style. I use a strap clip on a regular bra to convert it to a racer back bra to wear with this dress.

This dress is very versatile for different occasions. It can be worn with sneakers for a casual sporty look, cute flats or sandals for an everyday look, or heels and jewelry to dress it up a bit.

I got this dress in black, but it does come in other colors. I would size up, though, because I think they run small. I normally wear XS or Small in Target dresses and tops. But I typically get a Medium when it comes to Derek Heart dresses.

Scalp Spray for Growth and Extra Body

AG Hair Spray BodyI have been using AG Hair Spray Body for around a year now. I have tried other brands of hair volumizers and root boosts, like Paul Mitchell's Daily Boost spray. But none could compare to this AG Hair product. What first caught my attention was the list of ingredients. AG Hair Spray Body contains many ingredients that I've read can improve hair growth, like Nettle, Hops, Rosemary, Panthenol, wheat protein, and amino acids, to name a few.

Well, I thought, it would be a plus to grow more hair, since having very little hair is the reason for my using Spray Body. I've had lots of hair growth and a lot less hair loss while using this hair volumizer. It really seems to have long term health benefits for my hair, in addition to the immediate volume it gives my hair.

I usually spray this product all around my hair roots. Then I blow dry. It creates volume that lasts even through a hair rinsing. I've been spraying my scalp with witch hazel, rinsing, and then conditioning. The AG Hair Spray Body doesn't get completely washed out that way. And I don't have to re-apply after rinsing.

My hair is naturally straight, fine, sparse, and flat. This hair volumizing product gives my hair life that I never thought it could have. Since using this, I have actually gotten compliments on my hair. And when I see pictures of myself with this product on my hair, I'm always surprised at how much volume it has, especially for it being long.

AG Hair Spray Body is a little pricey, so I tried to switch back to Paul Mitchell's Daily Boost Spray, which is cheaper. But there was no comparison. I got the volume I wanted, but I started getting a lot of hair fallout. And it didn't work well with my dry shampoo.Needless to say, I came back to AG Hair Spray Body.

Luckily I found it on Amazon for a much better price than other places. So I continue to get it from Amazon and probably will forever.
