1.0 out of 5 stars Red 40 artificial color also in my jar -- check your vendor, July 12, 2018

I have used Patak's Tandoori Marinade, *uncolored*, for years (so easy, just mix with a bit of yogurt and marinate, then grill). I never even knew that they made a colored version. When my local store quit carrying it, I order this version online.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, the "Ingredient" list under "Important Information" mentions every ingredient on the label itself, except for the Red 40. Too bad the seller (Rani's) did not have an accurate description for those of us who dislike such fake coloring. I love Patak's Tandoori, but not this version. Since I haven't opened the jar, I have no idea if it tastes the same or not, but I... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great paste, good flavor, June 6, 2014
I've purchased many Patak products and this is one of my new favorites. Compared to either premixed Tandoori powders or homemade mixes, this paste blends immediately with yogurt. I mix it with a fair amount of yogurt (1:4 by volume), then thin it further with water to avoid it caking on the chicken or pork. The result is a nice, colorful coating on the meat with lots of flavor.

I bake things under foil, then broil them for 5 minutes at the end to brown. As close to a proper Tandoori oven as I care to get.
